Hello Everyone,

We’ve been working!

Writing, calling, sending messages.  Finishing up classes and registering for more. Checking out spaces, creating connections….all we can do is try, right?!

I will be completing my final placement at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, ON, on the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Inpatient unit. After visiting and chatting with staff and clients, I am eager to begin and so fortunate to have the opportunity.

Is good fortune behind every good thing?

For as much as I truly appreciate the consideration of my professors and placement coordinators at Mohawk College, the Dean at George Brown for overturning an initial denial to be placed at W. Ross MacDonald School, the professors and placement coordinator at George Brown, and the staff and placement coordinators at Grand River Hospital for considering my unique placement needs, I would be nowhere without having taken the initiative to put thoughts and dreams into action.

It’s not easy, but no one ever said it would be.  Calling, emailing, planning, and advocating for yourself first takes the confidence to know that what you are fighting for is right, and just and worth it.  Disappointment and changes in plans are absolutely part of the process but does that mean giving up?

No way!

When you are sure of your needs, and you are conscious in knowing that in the long run, there will be benefits for many, or at least one someone other than yourself……you must persevere!

Nothing ever just happened by just sitting there and wishing, hoping or dreaming it.

Taking one small step  can mean the difference between dreams and dreams coming true.

It’s all about you.

Of course, collaboration and the support of others is crucial….but you are the one to set things in motion…..

Do it….

Don’t give up…

Possibilities were made for every single one of us…

What do you need to do today to make thoughts or ideas or dreams take form?

It could simply mean writing your visualizations down.

Do it.

Make a list.
